You might be wondering, WHY “RING A LIFE”?
There you go..
There you go..
“Ring
a Life” was chosen as our theme as this theme clearly represents our message of
recycling mobile phones to save sea turtles. A ring is typically used as a
symbol of commitment, promise and dedication. Moreover, the ring also
represents the “ringing” of a mobile phone, representing the call to save the
marine turtles that are on the verge of extinction, before it is too late.
Initially, it started as a phone recycling campaign, however Nokia has decided
to include electronic gadgets such as laptops, tablets and computers as well
into the list of items that could be donated.
This is the 4th
consecutive year of TAR UC, Nokia-Microsoft and WWF collaborate to support the
WWF-Malaysia’s sea turtle conservation program. The main sponsor of “Ring A
Life” campaign is Nokia-Microsoft and the beneficiary is World Wildlife Fund
(WWF) Malaysia. On top of that, Nokia-Microsoft generously pledged to donate
USD$1 to WWF Malaysia’s sea turtle conservation effort for every phones,
laptops and tablets collected from “Ring A Life” campaign. This is to say, the
more phones, laptops and tablets you donated, the bigger the amount of
donations will be made by Nokia-Microsoft to the WWF Malaysia’s sea turtles
conversation program!! J
So, why are you still hesitating
to put your support into action? Dig out all the abandoned, unwanted old phones
you have and donate them to us! Why keep them in the drawer when they can
transform a sea turtle’s life to be better? Your little effort helps sea turtle
to swim further! You can be a hero to the sea turtles too! For more enquiries,
you may email us at ringalife2014@gmail.com.
