The process of making "Ring A Life" : Concept and Video

During the campaign meeting, all of the members had decided campaign themes are “Ring a Life”, through recycling mobile phones can save sea turtles life. Ring represents “ringing” of mobile phone, calling to save the sea turtles. Due to the main sponsor of “Ring A Life” campaign is Microsoft and beneficiary is World Wildlife Fund Malaysia. Microsoft will donate 1USD to WWF Malaysia’s sea turtle conservation effort for every phones, laptops and tablets collected from “Ring A Life” campaign 2014. It is a collaborated campaign between students of TAR UC, industry leader Microsoft and in support of International World Wide Fund for Nature. 

The campaign is to create awareness among publics focus on sea turtle extinction issues and encourage them to donate gadgets. In order to ring more awareness from publics, all of the members have come out ideas which is insect transformer character into the video because transformer movie content match to our campaign about extinctions because of auto bots planet are extinction due to the war and they are not taking care of it planets.

So I have to think creative concept apply in video to achieve the good publicity coverage. At the beginning, I have no idea how to make an interesting video to attract people about the endangered turtle and how to link the auto bots, Microsoft with WWF into the video contents. Therefore, I had search on website find related save sea turtle information and video to get some ideas for create video.

Finally, I have search useful website learn how the video to organized the plot and thinking how to make the video interestingly by adding conflict, climax and rising action. So let’s start off with what the concept of a story is. Personally, I think that the concept and the plot are two different entities. Concept is kind of like Plot autobot vs. nature. The storyline will talk about the beach is a place for female sea turtle laid eggs. Human carelessly let litter pollute their waters with chemicals and garbage get in to the ocean, where a hungry sea turtle can mistake it for food and die from the error.  The main impact is to persuading public donate gadgets to save sea turtle by partnership with Microsoft and beneficiary WWF Malaysia.When you hear about “sea turtle lives billions of years,” it’s hard to visualize, so this video takes familiar periods of time to show just how much time has passed, and how it’s important to make the best of the very short amount of time we have on earth.

The video can educate people learn a great deal about sea turtles, their habits, and their overall life cycles from hatchlings to grandparents. Story of one tiny turtle’s who struggle against the odds to survive in a hostile world and search for his long lost love. It took time to develop, it wasn't an overnight idea. I looked at everything I could relate to transformer and came up with my own ideas that I jotted down, come to re-imaginings. With brainstorming, should always answer the easy questions first. The best place to start is with a character. Is he a king, perhaps? Another good place to start is setting. I want it to be fantastic to grab people eyeball into videos.

I have to decide what I want the public’s actions to take after they watch the save sea turtle video. This should be kept in sight at all times so the language is appropriately inviting them to take action. It has to strike the right tone to get response. Some of the actions I need to make sure that the close is expected, smooth, and specific. Video script has to make sure that include space for the invitation to action. Since roughly 40 words per minute of video, carve this out at the beginning. It takes 10-12 words and about 3 to 7 seconds to build a call to action and information’s such as: “Let’s join our save sea turtle campaign in July 16 to 18 at canteen 2 concourses”.

In this modern world, It’s kind of the “so what” question people need to watch. Need a reason for people to watch, along with hint of what’s coming next so must benefit the public’s and appeal to their best interests. Have to efficiently tell people what’s to come, and why this matters to them. Example: one ocean, one environment connected the planet life cycle and human are responsibility the keeper of the sea. And it’ll be easy to put animations visuals in to support the ideas here. Public’s attention is priceless. Video has an audio and a visual channel. I make full use of both channels to respect the attention the publics given. Thus, show specific examples and screens what the human is doing on beach. Largely leave out specifications human kill them for their shells, meat make soup from them, steal their eggs by the thousands, build condominiums right next to their nesting sites, and flood the beach with bright lights, disrupting their attempts to procreate about the experience of showing people how their lives will harmful sea turtle life. Demonstrating human actions because sea turtles everywhere are dying needlessly need key in getting people to take the next step to stop all this actions.

Computers come with Windows Movie Maker, Photoshop and flash basic types of editing software that allow me to edit the footage together, mix in the sound, text and even add captions. Professional editing software like Video Edit Magic or Avid FreeDV tools are available Open Shot and Light Works which can get for free and use.

A screenplay writes out the entire dialog, attributed to each character, along with some physical directions, exposition, and camera movement. Each scene should start with a brief description of the scene. The storyboard is design as comic-book-like version same of the film which was rot scoped and had a unique and memorable sea turtle cartoon reality look to it. I have to choosing music which provides the right mood suitable to the scenes. Sync sound effects and music need to make sure that music flows with what is going on during the movie at that second and that the live sound I recorded with the film comes through loud and clear.People should work towards making the world safe for the ocean's turtles. Each sea turtle faces its own set of threats. I hope that by watching it, people will see ways to help.
