“TurtleBots” Patrolling around TAR University College to Seek for “TurtleHero”

Approximately, there is only one week time to our “Ring A Life” campaign. In order to, RING more awareness from our target audience and Ring as many lives as we could, we have come out with a lot of publicity strategies. For example, using social network (is a new media trend anyway), distribute printing materials, publish our campaign’s information by using CITC desktop as wallpaper and not forgetting producing our videos as well. However, all those strategies are a bit common nowadays. We want something different, hence we come out with a strategic named, TurtleBots Patrol (ta~daaaaaa~~~)!

Let me introduce the patrol directions first. TurtleBots gathered at TAR UC main hall and from there, we went through the bus stop opposite the canteen 2, following will be basketball court and CITC bus stop, Admin block, H Block, canteen 1, canteen 2 and back to college hall.

TurtleBots Patrol is where our crew members who will be wearing our handmade turtle shell and walk around the college. Uh-huh, not only walking but we will also approach people and educate people regarding the endangered of marine turtle in Malaysia. We do our best, walking under the sun, holding notice board, sweating like waterfall and using our sincere voice to persuade people and call them to action. We insist that word of mouth is the best tactic to persuade people as we can face to face interact with our target audience. Well, at least they can see our hard work.

During the patrol, TurtleBots are not only wearing the handmade turtle shell, as I mentioned earlier, we are also holding the information notice board so we can portable-ly present in front of them. Besides ringing them the endangered of marine turtle, we also mention about the recycling of pre-loved electrical gadgets (phone, tablets and laptop) where our partner, Microsoft will give 1USD to support WWF-Malaysia per donated phone. In case the students forgot, we marked down the students name, id and phone number therefore we can contact and remind them before the official launch of the campaign. OHYA, we also pitched them about every donator will stand a chance to take part in lucky draw! Who knows what mystery gifts will participants drew, perhaps a brand new phone? WHO WANTS TO BE A TURTLE HERO NOW? *search your old unwanted electrical gadget now to ring a life*

TurtleBots are presenting to the students about the event’s purpose while the students were waiting their bus.

The passionate students offered TurtleBots to have a photo session with them. They say TurtleBots are cute!
